This April, The Wool Hub, operated by the Woolly Nanas, offers an exciting array of woolcraft workshops and activities for all ages and abilities. Whether you're looking to learn new skills or simply enjoy the warmth of a crafty community, there's something here for everyone.
Workshops:
- Natural Dyeing: April 5, 11am to 2pm. Cost: £20. Join Noni and learn to dye wool and cotton using natural materials. Suitable for all abilities.
- Spinning Skills Improvement: April 26, 12 noon to 2:30pm. Cost: £30. Enhance your spinning skills with Jackie, focusing on combing fibre and plying techniques. Basic spinning skills required.
Children’s Craft Sessions: (During school term)
- Felting Fun: Mondays, 3:30 to 5pm, £15. For children aged 8 and above.
- Young Weavers: Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5pm, £15. Suitable for all ages; children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Crochet with Evelyn: Thursdays, 3:30 to 4:30pm, £3.
Two Moors Pine Marten Project: Starting in April, join the Felting team on mostly Monday and Friday afternoons to work on the Pine Marten Play Mat, commissioned by Devon Wildlife Trust. This project celebrates the release of pine martens on Dartmoor and Exmoor. Exact dates to be confirmed. All ages are welcome.
Weekly Drop-ins: Join any of our drop-in sessions, which cater to all ages and abilities. A suggested donation of £5 is appreciated. No booking necessary.
- Mondays: Felting with Marcelle, 10:30am to 12:30pm
- Tuesdays: Morning and afternoon sessions including Weaving, Knitting & Natural Dyeing with Noni, and Weaving with Annie.
- Wednesdays: Spinning and Weaving with Mandy in the morning and Sock Club with Gill in the afternoon.
- Thursdays: A full day of Spinning and Knitting with Mandy, plus morning Crochet and Knitting with Ann and 'Sort It' with Jackie in the afternoon.
- Fridays: Felting with Rita, 1 to 5pm.
Easter Opening Times: On Tuesday 15th April, we will be open from 12 noon to 4pm. Please note, The Wool Hub will be closed from Friday 18th to Monday 21st April.
